“Julia's workshop was an eye-opening experience for me. The selected readings/listening material was beautiful and inspiring. The syllabus was also very diverse, a small but much-appreciated detail for me as a writer of color. The writing prompts helped open up new worlds and spaces and modes of writing for me, where before I felt uninspired and stuck. Julia is a great facilitator both for discussing the readings as well as helping guide the workshopping of our pieces, and I think she fostered a nurturing and supportive class. I have been flirting with the thought of identifying as a writer, but after this workshop, I say with pride, "I am a writer!"

I'm one of those people who has always wanted to write, and the cool thing about taking a workshop with Julia is that she makes that possible. I've felt inspired by the readings/podcasts/videos, other students, and of course Julia herself. Take a workshop with her and discover new things about yourself and what it means to write!

"Julia's Hybrid Genres Writing Workshop opened my eyes to new forms of creative expression. For an online workshop, I was surprised the atmosphere could feel comfortable, encouraging, and challenging all at the same time."
